This week OGE’s Director Walter M. Shaub, Jr. attends the Annual Conference for the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE). As a standing member of the Council and that body’s Integrity Committee, OGE’s Director works closely with the Inspector General community. OGE regularly provides assistance to Inspectors General who request assistance in interpreting the complex ethics laws and regulations in connection with investigations. The conference brings together leaders from the Inspector General community and covers topics such as navigating administration transitions, identifying emerging risks, focusing on an organization’s culture and evaluating the results from the federal viewpoint survey.
Also this week, OGE is providing training at the Inspector General Criminal Investigation Academy. The training focuses on investigating ethics-related matters and working with ethics officials. This training has become an integral part of the Academy’s curriculum.
